2012 Annual Report
Efforts to expand high-speed internet access throughout Illinois through economic development initiatives, gigabit-level connectivity, innovation and education were among the key focuses of Broadband Illinois in 2012, according to the Broadband Illinois annual report released today.
The report, available for download, highlights key activities of the non-profit Partnership for a Connected Illinois in 2012. It lays the framework for future efforts to ensure more subscribers to broadband, more effective use of technologies and other efforts to enhance the State's economic development.
The annual report spotlights key projects from the past year, including the Broadband Innovation Fund and work to support Gov. Pat Quinn’s Illinois Gigabit Communities Challenge. The report also gives a preview of what’s to come in 2013, such as the Better Broadband, Better Lifeline program.
Also featured in the 16-page document are Broadband Illinois' web tools for finding and requesting broadband service.
