“The Focus Forward CI economic development initiative taking place for Mason, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties is unprecedented for our region – never before have so many stakeholders from throughout the region been engaged in developing a regional economic development strategy,” said Nick Hayward, Planner at the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. “The Innovation Fund will enable broadband adoption to be a central component of Focus Forward CI, allowing the region to maximize the use of broadband for creating jobs, growing businesses, and strengthening our economy. The hallmarks of this project will be broadband adoption, regional collaboration, and a proactive and structured approach to economic development, so the Focus Forward CI Broadband Initiative will serve as a model for how other communities and regions in Illinois can maximize broadband use to build a more prosperous economy.”

Request for Qualifications: Regional Broadband Adoption Effort, Peoria, IL

The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC) is requesting Statements ofQualifications (SOQs) from qualified firms to work with TCRPC, the Regional Strategy Policy Steering Committee, and Mason, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties to carry out a regional broadband adoption effort to be integrated with the Focus Forward CI regional economic development initiative.

This regional broadband adoption effort will consist of developing and presenting a customized broadband education program for strengthening regional economic development. Submittal deadline is November 7, 2012.
