Illinois Gigagbit Communities Challenge Applicants

SPRINGFIELD – August 8, 2012. More than 40 communities are in the running for seed funding to build ultra high-speed broadband networks, according to a list of applicants published by the Illinois Gigabit Challenge Team.

The Challenge will award $6 million to the most promising private and public organizations seeking to build innovative broadband networks that will improve employment opportunities, enhance economic development, connect healthcare providers to their patients, and more.
