Research on broadband and business will be available for all ten eTeam regions
SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, September 10, 2012 – Businesses throughout Illinois are invited to participate in a new survey on how they utilize high-speed internet and the broadband access needs of their company.
Broadband service is essential for the success of Illinois businesses. Data collected by Broadband Illinois will be used to identify areas that need high-speed internet and that can serve as an incubator for economic development. This is the first survey of it’s kind of Illinois and detailed statistics for all ten of Broadband Illinois’ eTeam regions will be made available.
“The major goal of this research is to ensure all Illinois businesses have the connections they need to thrive,” said Drew Clark, Executive Director of Broadband Illinois. “Investment towards establishing affordable broadband services is essential for the long-term success of all Illinois businesses.”
An invitation to participate in this research initiative was sent to thousands of businesses last week, and any business leader is encouraged to take the survey. Visit www.broadbandillinois.org/survey to participate. (The survey is now closed)
The survey will take about 20 minutes to complete and users will need to know:
- Type of internet connection at the business location
- Upload and download speeds
- How the internet has contributed the organization's revenues and operating costs
Results from this research will be made available by October 18, 2012.
